EPC Process and Useful Information

To issue your commercial building an EPC requires

1. Building Energy Survey: Ascertain the key elements of the buildings energy profile by visiting the building to measure room dimensions and energy usage factors. This can be greatly aided by you providing key documents see list below

  • HVAC info (Heating, Ventilation and
  • Air Conditioning)
  • Glazing info
  • Building fabric info

2. Energy Performance Assessment: using the information gathered in the energy survey to assess the energy performance for the premises. This process requires the expertise of a qualified professional assessor and access to the necessary secure system.

3. EPC Creation, Issue & Registration: once the assessment has been completed the EPC is created, issued and registered with the government landmark www.ndepcregister.co.uk. A commercial EPC is valid for 10 years unless or until you make major changes or ‘consequential improvements’ in the property.
